We work for ITO-Client-Management team. There are some issues while using the MS-Excel 2010 which we work on daily basis. File size is 12.5MB and has 42600 plus rows and 17 columns.
1[SUP]st[/SUP] ISSUE:
When a formula (i.e.: COUNTIF, VLOOKUP) is run, it takes lot of time (30min) for compilation. The worksheet hangs for long time (30min). In Task Manager it shows “Not Responding”. Either it ends hanging or shows a white screen.
2[SUP]nd[/SUP] ISSUE:
When option “Move or Copy” is used. We face the below error alert in image.

3[SUP]rd[/SUP] ISSUE:
When a file save option is used, we face an error “Document Not Saved” for two-three times. Finally gets saved after putting lot of efforts.
4[SUP]TH[/SUP] ISSUE:
When shortcut option Ctrl+D is used for Fill down, it takes more time compared to normal MS-EXCEL 2003. Many such actions which were shift in earlier versions are extremely slow in latest versions.
Please provide us with appropriate solution, early as possible. On an urgent basis.

It seems like you are encountering several critical issues while working with Microsoft Excel 2010. Let's address each problem one by one:

1[SUP]st[/SUP] Issue: Slow Performance with Formulas

  • Cause: The sluggish performance with formulas like COUNTIF and VLOOKUP could be due to the large dataset in your Excel file (42600 rows x 17 columns).
  • Solution:
  • Optimize Formulas:
    • Check if there are any inefficient formulas that can be simplified.
    • Consider using helper columns to reduce the complexity of formulas.
    []Data Consolidation:
    • If possible, split the data into smaller chunks to improve calculation speed.
    [
    ]Memory Management:
    • Ensure you have enough system memory available for Excel to perform calculations efficiently.

2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Issue: Error while Moving or Copying Sheets

      • Cause: The error alert you're facing while moving or copying sheets could be due to corrupted workbook or Excel installation issues.
      • Solution:
    []Workbook Repair:
    • Try to repair the Excel workbook using built-in repair tools.
    [
    ]Reinstallation:
    • Consider reinstalling Microsoft Excel to resolve any software-related issues.
    []Alternative Method:
    • Instead of using "Move or Copy" option, try copying the sheets manually by right-clicking on the sheet tabs and selecting "Move or Copy."

3[SUP]rd[/SUP] Issue: "Document Not Saved" Error

      • Cause: The error message "Document Not Saved" suggests potential file corruption or access issues.
      • Solution:
    [
    ]File Repair:
    • Attempt to save the file to a different location or with a different name.
    []Check Permissions:
    • Ensure you have the necessary permissions to save the file in its current location.
    [
    ]Backup Regularly:
    • Create backups of your work periodically to prevent complete data loss.

4[SUP]th[/SUP] Issue: Slow Performance with Shortcuts

      • Cause: The delay in executing shortcuts like Ctrl+D for Fill down may stem from system resources or Excel configuration.
      • Solution:
    []Disable Add-ins:
    • Disable unnecessary add-ins that might be slowing down Excel's performance.
    [
    ]Hardware Upgrade:
    • Consider upgrading your system to improve performance.
  • Update Excel:
    • Ensure Excel 2010 is fully updated with the latest patches and service packs to address performance issues. Addressing these issues should help improve your productivity and resolve the issues you are facing in Microsoft Excel 2010. Let me know if you need further assistance with any specific problem!
