Muhuhahahah indeed. I have a feeling Day One have done good things here. Maybe they were fans of the original? It seems to have that feel to it.

Very impressive.

Agreed.. The future looks bright (or dark depending how you see things... ;) )

The new trailer from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment gives players a frighteningly close look at the Almaverse: the landscape of Alma's nightmarish psyche, as ggmania reports today.
This Almaverse, inhabited by Alma's demented visions, was under her control in both F.E.A.R. and F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin. Players only gained small glimpses into the Almaverse as she allowed it -- until now. As the pregnant Alma grows closer to giving birth in Link Removed - Invalid URL, she begins to lose control of the Almaverse and unimaginable evil bleeds into players' reality, with terrifying results. Originally scheduled for a 2010 release, the game's release date was moved into 2011.

It seems that the game as now been delayed until some point in 2011. I'm also a little concerned about the graphics which to be honest look bloody awful. I just hope they don't trash this once awesome title..

I wouldn't worry about the graphics just yet, they probably mock renders with the high detail textures etc added towards the back end of the development, likely more to show the engines potential rather than being an end result... or could be the console editions...lol

WBIE confirms Day 1-developed survival horror shooter has been given two more months of development time on 360, PS3, PC.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Day 1 Studios are certainly being skittish about the release date for F.E.A.R. 3. Today, GameSpot confirmed with the publisher that the horror-steeped first-person shooter has been delayed for a second time, with its release date shifting from March 22 to sometime in May. Previously, the game had been scheduled to arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC last fall.
Link Removed - Invalid URL Paxton Fettel's wanton murder of deliverymen could be a culprit here.

According to the WBIE representative, F.E.A.R. 3's delay was brought about as part of Day 1's effort to "deliver the best possible game for our consumers." The publisher issued no additional comment as to the state of the game's development.
F.E.A.R. 3 will be the third full-fledged installment in the first-person shooter series, which began in 2005. The forthcoming game will continue the franchise's storyline but will add an all-new "divergent co-op" mode that will let players assume the role of one of two characters. Players can step into the shoes of Point Man, the genetically engineered supersoldier who appeared in the first F.E.A.R. or his brother, Paxton Fettel, who has telekinetic powers.
In an effort to enhance the horror element of F.E.A.R. 3, Warner Bros. has enlisted horror film director John Carpenter to advise on development of the game. After coming to prominence with the 1978 cult hit Halloween, the filmmaker has been behind the camera on such cult hits as Escape From New York, the remake of The Thing, and They Live.

Oh well...

If they are adamant about delivering the best game for the true fans then I'll wait :)

As some of you may have seen on other news websites the launch date for F.E.A.R 3 has changed.

The F.E.A.R. 3 launch date will now be in May 2011 as we look to deliver the best possible game for you, the players. The reason for this delay is so that more time can be spent on optimisation in order to provide the best experience possible.

We will have a more solid date for you in the very near future.

Oh Man! Not another delay. If this delivers a better game then all the better...

New video here... Called 'Creating scares for pairs' it gives a little insight to level development.

Making a genuinely scary videogame is no easy task – the most skilled of developers rely on a delicate mixture of scripted moments, subtle audio and video cues, magician-style misdirection and cunning AI in order to keep player nerves on edge. Of course, such efforts must be doubled when you're building a campaign mode that aims to both scare and facilitate co-op play – after all, how can you maintain tension when you've got a buddy chattering away in your headset earpiece and tea-bagging every second enemy you kill?

Valve's Left 4 Dead series manages to keep panic levels high thanks to its dynamic artificial intelligence system, which effectively randomises the locations of enemies and items each time you play through one of its B-movie inspired scenarios. Link Removed - Invalid URL, the maker of Link Removed - Invalid URL, is aiming to achieve something similar with what it has dubbed its "generative scare system".

The generative scare system applies to both scripted horror moments and enemy AI in an effort to enforce an air of unpredictability to both the single-player and co-op experience of F.E.A.R. 3.

Oh dear... Yet another delay.

Warner has confirmed that F.E.A.R. 3 is the victim of another delay that will see the title now pushed back to June release. The title was originally slated for an autumn 2010 release and then it was bumped to March of 2011 and once again to May. It seems that the title just can’t make its way to release.

F.E.A.R. 3 is a highly expected sequel that many players have wanted to see for a long time. While we have heard whispers of development troubles and continued revisions and tweaks to the game to improve it, no one wants to go on record to say that this is actually the case.

So, keep your fingers crossed and we will see if F.E.A.R. 3 really does get released on June 21st for North America and June 24th in Europe. Right now, we give the chances of this happening at 50/50 at best. We will see how it turns out, but evidently Warner is committed to the title, so it will get released at some point.
