Hi guys, I'm new here so I'll introduce myself

If you dont care for introductions, skip it I'm just doing it as a formality =)

[intro]
*****
I'm 25 years old, and have been using computers as a hobby for more than half my life. As a teenager I never had owned a brand new computer, always received some secondhand Dell's that would inevitably experience problems that I have no choice but to figure out on my own. Since it is not only something I am capable of, but something I am good at as well as enjoy, I felt it only natural to get a legitimate certifiable education in the field. So as of now I am in my first semester at community college enrolled in a 2 year associates of applied science for Computer Maintenance and Networking. So far, I love it-- It's all very natural to me. I hope one day to have a successful Computer Maintenance/Custom PC building business, but we shall see what comes of that! So as of now I simply offer my services for free to friends and family.. I've fixed 3 computers in a month.. well, 2 and a partial fix.. I'm here to inquire as to the solution for the remainder of this computers problems

Now, onto the problem...

My friends purchased a Dell inspiron n7010 which they purchased second hand through a rent-to-own joint. It has W7 Home Premium and a plethora of problems in functionality.

When we first attempted to plug it in to their TV via HDMI output, we got some "Not supported" error on the TV so to decipher whether it was the tv that was the problem or the computer we tried mine-- Narrowed it down to their computer

THAT was an easy fix. However shortly after watching 1 dvd, we popped in a 2nd and the BSOD popped up as soon as the disc was loaded.. then when we rebooted, it wouldn't read the disk so they decided to restart as this is not the first time they've experienced the problem-- Upon rebooting, the computer got stuck at the "Logginf Off" screen-- They performed a hard shut down, and rebooted, the thing worked fine for a while

They told me however that they experienced BSOD pretty frequently, so I did the favor of finding a program to read the Crash Dump reports, and I have included a snapshot of the multiple frequent reports.

I know that before completely reinstalling windows I should do some chkdsk and memtest scans, lest we waste time isntalling windows on defective hardware.

But I just want a second opinion-- Int he "Caused By Drive" Column it lists some things that lead me to believe a fresh isntall of windows might do the trick, can someone with more experience than myself analyze the image and tell me if I'm headed int he right direction?

(The thumbnail is pretty tiny but it's pretty large when you open it in another window..)

It would be preferred if you could send the original *.dmp files

"Logginf Off" is roughly a matter of trying to Log in to Windows, but not making it. It also frequently makes an automatic log off. My guess would be that there are issues with user rights - precisely what "Caused By Drive" would indicate.

You do have the original installation disc, with registration / activation numbers? If you do, the simplest way might be to call Microsoft, and get verification there.

I'm not TOO concerned about the delay in logging off, as it had occured when several other problems were occuring and was fixed by rebooting. I do not physically have the laptop with me, but will do my best to get the .dmp files to upload soon.
