In this thread I will be posting a number of tutorials on Paint.Net, this freeware application has the capability to produce high quality graphics and effects many of witch can be found to top GFX software like Adobe CS5 photo shop. Paint.Net has many plugins that can be downloaded from its support forum and to download them you don't have to join.
A layer can be imported in Paint.Net, resized, rotated and its level of opacity altered >
Open Paint.Net click file then open, now you can open and image file from anywhere on your computer into Paint.Net, or you can right click on a image file and open it in Paint.Net via the right click context menu.
Now you have your image open you can add a layer, click Layers and then click Import from file.
The imported layer opens on top of your first image file and you will see the imported image is what is called a live image (meaning it can be altered without affecting the first layer underneath it, the imported layer can be resized via click / hold and drag, if you right click the image can be rotated.
Opacity can be altered buy clicking Layers then Layer properties, a small window opens and opacity can be altered via a slide control
