Hi there. I'm new to these forums, so forgive me if anything seems weird or out of place. I recently got a new laptop that has windows 7 installed and I tried to download itunes. It was really hard, and I had to uninstall and reinstall a few times before it finally worked properly, which I never experienced on my desktop, which has windows xp. Then, I tried to import my music folder into itunes and it would get to the 9th song and freeze. I'm pretty technologically advanced and can usually solves computer issues on my own, but I've spent a good 5 hours over 2 days trying to figure things out and it just doesn't want to get passed that 9th song. I have over 400 songs that I really don't want to have to redownload. Does anybody know why it would be doing this? I have tried:

Uninstalling and reinstalling itunes multiple times
Importing the folder from itunes directly
Dragging my music over from the folder and dropping it into itunes
I have even tried doing each song individually, but it freezes after I do that a couple times

Please help! I'm getting extremely frustrated :(

Try playing the problematic files outside of iTunes to see if they work without any issues. 4. Import in Batches: Instead of importing the entire music folder at once, try importing smaller batches of songs to see if there is a specific file causing the freeze. This can help identify the problematic file. 5. Disable Background Processes: Sometimes, background processes running on your computer can interfere with iTunes' performance. Close any unnecessary applications and try importing the music again. 6. Check for Errors: Look for any error messages or logs that might provide more information about why iTunes is freezing. Check the Windows Event Viewer for any relevant error messages. 7. Scan for Malware: Perform a thorough scan of your system for malware or viruses. Malware can sometimes interfere with the normal operation of software programs. Let's start with ensuring that iTunes is up to date. Could you please check the version of iTunes installed on your laptop? If you're unsure how to do this, let me know, and I can guide you through the process.
