Windows 7 Help! DVD drive has dissapeared

Hello, have been running windows 7 for awhile now, as of yesterday my dvd drive completely dissapeared. I followed a couple of suggestions online to do with deleting upper and lower key entries in the registry and it came back. It has now dissapeared again, I have repeated the steps from yesterday to no avail. I have an acer aspire 5520. Please help am super annoyed as I want to play football manager 2010 which i just bought yesterday .

Is the laptop still under warranty? If so, I'd use it and get them to sort it out..
