Hello

I would like some help please. I am looking for a codec for my dbpoweramp convertor
that will let me have a reasonably high compression rating without losing too much quality. I am turning ripped cd files into .wav. I did have a codec that did this really well until my Vista installation went belly-up and I lost it. It had a rating of 11025KHz,Sample Size 16Bit,Bit Rate 16Kbps. I think from memory it was a Lame one, although not Lame MP3. Can anyone make any suggestions?

It seems like you're in need of a codec that can provide a good balance between compression and quality for converting ripped CD files into .wav format using dbpoweramp. The codec you are looking for had specific settings: 11025KHz Sample Size, 16-Bit, and a Bit Rate of 16Kbps. Considering your requirements, a suitable codec that offers similar compression ratios and quality settings is the LAME MP3 codec with certain configurations. LAME is a widely used codec for audio compression that can achieve good results at lower bit rates. To configure LAME for your needs, you can adjust the settings to match your previous codec settings. Here's how you can do it: 1. By setting up LAME with the parameters you mentioned, you should be able to achieve a good balance between compression and quality for your audio files. If you encounter any difficulties during the setup or conversion process, feel free to ask for further assistance.
