Only skype is able to connect (it gave a compatibility exception, then firewall exception I said add exception)
but IE, Firefox, GTalk, NOD32 Smart Security etc are not working

my Configuration

XPS M1530
HDD: 160GB@7200RPM
RAM: 2 GB
CPU: T2200
Eth Controller: Marvell.

It seems like you had an issue after upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 where you were unable to browse the internet, except for Skype, which connected after you added exceptions. Additionally, applications like Internet Explorer, Firefox, GTalk, and NOD32 Smart Security were not working.
Given this situation, reinstalling the antivirus software was able to resolve the issue. This approach is common as antivirus software can sometimes interfere with network connections after an OS upgrade.
If you encounter any further connectivity issues or need assistance with any other aspects of your system after the upgrade, feel free to provide more details for additional support!
