So up until a few weeks ago my comp has been working flawlessly. I went on vaction for a week and came back turned by comp on and got a beep error code. I took out and reseated my ram and all was good for (close to a month) until this week. My computer went haywire was crashing non-stop BSOD or just plain restarting with no crash errors sometimes. I tried to update win 7 as couldn't bc of file corruption. So I reinstalled windows and even that took multiple tries. I finally got everything reinstalled and the system stable, but im still having some issues.
Whenever I am playing any game after a short while the computer will just freeze or sometimes restart. Sometimes I will get and error message and some times I won't. I also will get the beep code again from time to time. This is my most resent and biggest issue atm. this just started friday, thursday I was able to play BFBC2 for multiple hours with no issues. I have tried multiple games including torchlight which isn't graphically demanding and the same thing happens. After short while of playing the game freezes and my comp restrats itself. I have only gotten BSODs a couple times with this problem.
The beep code is three long continous beeps(I think). which is a key board error or usb port/mobo error. I have switched mouse and keyboard along with my usb headset and still the samething happens. Also somthing I forgot to mention was sometimes watching videos will cause a BSOD less crash and restart.
Earlier this week when everything was haywire I did checkdisk found some bad sectors and repaired them. I have run checkdisk numerious times since I renistalled and everything is fine. when I reinstalled windows 7 it kept all my old files in a folder called winold (or somthing like that). when I was trying to delete it my comp crashed and I came back and all the files were gone like they had been deleted. Do I have somhing stuck in limbo somewhere casuing a problem?
I have been using whocrashed to look at my dumpfiles and most are ntoskrnl.exe and unknown module. I don't really have that many third party driver on my system atm so I don't know what it is. I also have looked up ntoskrnl and all the fixes I find are for XP not win 7 which is utterly frustrating to me.
My setup:
Windows 7 Home Premiumx64
GigaByte GA-770T-USB3 AMD 770
AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.40ghz
GTX 460
8 gigs of ram ADATA DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Module(4x2 gig sticks)
500 gig hardrive
