Windows 7 HO Pavillion dv5000

I am not able to get any voice from my HP Paviilion d5000 laptop which has a operating system called Windows 7.I heard Conexant soundtrack driver works on Windows 7 as well but unfortunately I am not able to get any voice.I will be appreciated if you can help me about this issue.
