When I marked a whole folder or a couple of files in Windows Explorer in Windows XP then the sum/total size of all marked files is (was) shown in the status bar in the bottom of the WinExp window.

After migrating to Win7 this value is not shown any more.

Do I have to enable this feature somehow in Win7?

Click on "organize", select "layout", select "details pane".

I want to avoid always displaying the details pane. Showing the total size in status bar would be perfect.
Is there really no way? Even not with a 3rd party WinExp extension?
