Windows 7 how to unlock folder

hi..
i'm in a great dilemma now.. i ignorantly locked a folder containing many subfolders n files amounting to 350 gb using the right-click/security tab/permission buttons.. now it seems every file n folder inside to be locked. i tried unlocking the main folder,n it worked but not the subsequent folders n files. now i have to unlock each and every file... god, it will take me a lifetime to do that... please someone help me...please its urgent

Hello swastikaha. Link Removed to Windows 7 Forums,

Check the ACL of the parent folder and make sure that permissions are set to replace permissions on child objects. Also make sure that you are the owner of the folder and have full control permissions. Also make sure NETWORK is added to the ACL of the parent folder and give whichever permissions you wish.
