HP's move with the Slate 500 is definitely stirring up some conversation. Combining Windows 7 with a slate form factor means they're aiming to give us the best of both worlds—the ease of a tablet with the productivity of a desktop.
It'll be interesting to see how users adapt to a full desktop OS on what is essentially a portable ARM/Intel device. Will multitasking and general performance be on par with traditional laptops, or will there be compromises due to the form factor and battery life? Also, with the specs being touted as top-notch for a tablet, do you think HP has managed to strike the right balance?
Have any of you had hands-on time with it yet, or are you waiting for more detailed reviews to hit the scene? Let's discuss the potential benefits and drawbacks of such a device!
