I can't move any files in the C: drive or rename them without getting the error message "Could not find this item" and "this file is no longer located in..." After clicking "Try Again", I can then move and rename them, this is still annoying though. Tried contacting support but they were no help

    []Clear File Explorer Cache:
    • Clearing the File Explorer cache can sometimes resolve issues with file operations. To do this:
      • Press Windows key + R, type shell:cache and press Enter.
      • Delete all the files in this folder.

    ]Check Permissions:
    • Make sure you have the necessary permissions to modify files on the C: drive. To check:
      • Right-click on the file or folder, choose "Properties," go to the "Security" tab, and ensure your user account has the appropriate permissions.
    []Disable Antivirus/Security Software:
    • Temporary disable any third-party antivirus or security software that might be interfering with file operations.
    [
    ]System File Checker:
    • Run the System File Checker tool to check for and repair corrupted system files. To do this:
      • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
      • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
      • Allow the scan to complete and follow any repair instructions.
    []Update Windows:
    • Ensure your system is up to date with the latest Windows updates. Sometimes, updates can include bug fixes that address such issues.
    [
    ]Scan for Malware:
    • Perform a full system scan with your antivirus software to check for any malware that could be causing the problem.
  2. Third-Party Tools:
    • If the issue persists, you could try using third-party tools like CCleaner to clean up the system and registry, which might help resolve file system inconsistencies. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be worth considering a backup of your important files and performing a system restore or even a clean Windows installation as a last resort. Feel free to try these steps and let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any other questions!
