Windows 7 I need a W7, Vista Basic, Sun VBox, Dell restore DVD guru

I am running W7 Home Premium on a Dell Vostro 220 that used to run Vista Basic. I have Sun Virtual Box VM installed and use it to run Windows 2000.

I would like to add my old Vista Basic OS as another Sun VBox Virtual Machine. However, I only have the Dell Recovery DVD and not an actual Vista installation DVD.

Can I install Vista Basic as a VM under Sun VBox, or is it a lost cause?

I suspect it may be a lost cause. I tried to install Vista on a VM for testing from my restore restore disk set from a HP computer and got an error about bios not being the same. Try and create a new disk it will fault pretty fast if it is like mine. You will probably not be able to activate it at MS anyway since it is tied to an existing OS.

you will need to find a Vista install and key
