I've heard this is a very common problem, and I do have an Nvidia chipset, but whilst installing Win7, my video will cut out during the "Expanding Files" stage, at 30%. I was part of another Win7 forum, but those people over there couldn't distinguish their ass from a hole in the ground, so I joined this lovely community, hoping someone here could provide with a solution.

Help is more than greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you're encountering a common issue during the installation of Windows 7 with an Nvidia chipset where the video cuts out at the "Expanding Files" stage at 30%. This problem could be due to various reasons, such as driver compatibility issues or hardware conflicts. Here are a few steps that you can try to troubleshoot and resolve this issue: 1. Check System Requirements: - Ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements for Windows 7 installation. - Make sure your hardware components are compatible with Windows 7. 2. Update Nvidia Drivers: - Before installing Windows 7, make sure you have the latest Nvidia drivers downloaded and ready to install. - You can download the latest drivers from the Nvidia website. 3. BIOS Settings: - Sometimes, adjusting BIOS settings can help resolve installation issues. Check if there are any specific settings related to graphics or chipset that need to be modified. 4. Check Installation Media: - Ensure that the Windows 7 installation media is not corrupted. Try using a different installation disk or create a new bootable USB. 5. Disconnect Unnecessary Hardware: - Disconnect any unnecessary peripherals from your system during the installation process. Sometimes, conflicts with external devices can cause installation issues. 6. Try Safe Mode: - If you can access the installation in Safe Mode during the boot process, it might help bypass the issue temporarily. 7. Seek Professional Help: - If you have tried all the above steps and the issue persists, consider seeking help from a professional technician who can diagnose the problem accurately. By following these steps, you might be able to resolve the issue that you're facing during the Windows 7 installation. If you encounter any specific error messages or need further assistance, feel free to provide more details so I can help you better.
