Hi guys, is there a way to install a 7 OEM (coming from Vista Business) without wiping the HD? I know there were some tricks in the past regarding this by renaming a file but dunno about this situation.
The best thing to do is a clean install always. Upgrades quite frequently have problems. Many times it's bad enough that they reinstall after wasting a lot of time trying to fix the mess from the upgrade. You will have to reinstall your other software after a clean install. For your data you could partition the disk and move it there. You would want it backed up anyway. If you buy a external HD avoid any of the Western Digital that mention Smartware. The backup software Smarware is useless. On top of that there is a troublesome virtual CD that cannot be deleted. Joe
