I have currently on my computer Windows 7 Ultimate RC1. What will happen when I insert the OEM Ultimate installation disc. In other words will I be able to install Win 7 without having to re install all of my software?

You mean that under the conditions described, no clean install is required?

    No..

Microsoft recommends that you do a fresh install. I would back up what you can and then re-install: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/faq.aspx

    See attached screenshot..

You can't back up 3rd party applications.

They will all need to be re-installed because there are no references to them in the newly created registry.

Very true..This is why I said 'back up what you can' as there are some things that just won't do it...:)
