Windows 7 Installing windows mobile software issues

I'm trying to install Communicator Mobile 2007 R2 on my windows mobile 6.1 phone (HTC Touch Pro). When I double-click on the application on windows 7 machine, I receive a modal popup that states:

"Please upgrade to the latest version of ActiveSync or Windows Mobile device center before installing Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile. "
