It seems like you're having issues with your Ethernet connection after setting up your broadband. The problem you've described is quite common and can be caused by various factors. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Troubleshooting Steps for Ethernet Connection Issue:

  1. Check Ethernet Cable:
    • Ensure that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the router and your computer.
    • Try using a different Ethernet cable to rule out any possible cable issues.
    []Restart Your Devices:
    • Restart both your computer and router. Sometimes, a simple restart can help resolve connectivity issues.

    ]Check Network Adapter Settings:
    • Open "Network and Sharing Center" on your computer and check the adapter settings. Ensure that the Ethernet connection is set to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP).
    []Update Network Drivers:
    • Check if there are any updates available for your network adapter drivers. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause connectivity issues.
    [
    ]Disable Wireless Connection:
    • If your wireless connection is active while using Ethernet, try disabling the wireless connection temporarily to see if it improves the Ethernet connection.
    []Reset TCP/IP Stack:
    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands:
      Code:
netsh int ip reset netsh winsock reset
    [
    ]Check Network Properties:
    • Make sure that the network profile for the Ethernet connection is set to "Private" or "Home" to allow proper communication with your devices.
    []Disable IPv6:
    • In the network adapter settings, try disabling IPv6 and only use IPv4 to see if it helps with the connectivity.
    [
    ]Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings:
    • Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software to check if they are blocking the network connection.
  2. Reset Network Settings:
    • You can reset the network settings on your computer by going to "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Status" > "Network reset" and then follow the prompts.

      Additional Tips:

      • Ensure that the Ethernet port on your router is functioning correctly.
      • Check for any firmware updates for your router.
Addressing these points should help you troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the Ethernet connection issue you're experiencing.
