Windows 7 IRC clients and Windows 7

Hey

I've installed icechat 7 (irc client) previously on vista and it worked first go. I installed both icechat and xchat, two different irc clients, in windows 7 and, regardless of what port I connect to, no matter what server I connect to, it always times out. I can't connect to any server. Windows firewall is turned off, port forwarding for those ports are in effect.. what do I do?

I just need some help on irc and I can't even connect to that anymore.

I use mIRC v6.31 and it works fine on 7

I have installed mIRC 6.31 and it still won't connect to any server. Someone please help
