Hey folks, I was wondering if it was possible to access a different hard drive on a computer via the network option on windows? All the computers on my home network are windows 7 and i'm always accessing stuff from a desktop file on my main computer to my laptop or onto my flat mates laptop/computer. I'm upgrading to a solid state pretty soon and hoping to put windows on my SSD and have all my files i'm usually sharing on my 2nd hard drive due to not having much space on my SSD.

Is there any way to access a hard drive on your network that doesnt have windows 7 on? So I can access my files on my second HDD on my PC from my laptop. Normally all I can see is "Jon-PC" and that accesses the C: windows drive

thanks

Yes...you just have to map the drive and then allow access to it. I have several desktops and laptops on my home network and there are 2 different OS. 2 PC's has XP and 3 have windows 7 of different flavors.
