I just started experiencing the BSOD on my laptop. :( I was doing a few virus scans that finished by needing to be restarted. This is when I first saw the BSOD.

I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to computers but I'm learning! I used the W7F Diagnostic Tool and zipped the results. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? Is there any more info needed?

Thanks so much in advance.

Solution
I'm just guessing here, but it appears that the tool didn't run long enough - did you wait a full 15 minutes before zipping things up?

We did get the memory dumps tho' - so that's a good start!

If you can't get the tool to run, try this tool (written by a different author): Link Removed

Make sure that you get all available updates from Windows Update.

You have both Norton and Microsoft Security Essentials running on your system. Please do this first:
Anti-Virus Removal:
Please do the following:
- download a free anti-virus for testing purposes: Link Removed
- un-install the Norton from your system (you can reinstall it, if so desired, when we're done...
The contents of the zipped folder is only the executable (filename ends in .exe) program for the tool.
Please double click on the .exe file and let it run until done (wait at least 15 minutes before giving up on it)

Then follow the instructions to zip up the reports folder and include it with your next post.

Did the virus scans remove viruses? If so, try a couple of more scans to ensure that the system is really clean. I have a list of some free scans here: Link Removed

Thank you for letting me know! In reading the post about what all to do for your first post, it mentions downloading several things to my computer for information retrieval. To be honest, I'm a bit apprehensive as my computer really seems to be acting up lately. That being said, I watched the tutorial video in regards to the dmp files and I think I did this one right. LOL! Is there any help that can be given with these files?

Anti-Virus Removal:
Please do the following:
- download a free anti-virus for testing purposes: Link Removed
- un-install the Norton from your system (you can reinstall it, if so desired, when we're done troubleshooting)
- remove any remnants of Norton using this free tool: http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080710133834EN
- IMMEDIATELY install and update the free anti-virus, then check to ensure that the Windows Firewall is turned on.
- check to see if this fixes the BSOD's
NOTE: NEVER run more than 1 anti-virus, firewall, Internet Security/Security Center application at the same time.
Then
- download a fresh copy of Microsoft Security Essentials (MSSE)
- un-install the current copy of MSSE
- install the freshly downloaded copy of MSSE
- immediately update it and then perform a full system scan.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
