Evelyn Rogers, 75, of Liberty Hill had gone outside to water her plants about 6 p.m. Aug. 18 when she sat down to rest on a canvas chair because it was so hot.
When Rogers sat down, she saw a piece of plastic sticking out underneath the chair's bottom and pulled on it, she said.
That's when the entire bottom of the chair ripped out, and she fell through the opening onto her patio, with most of her body encased by the chair's aluminum frame, she said.
