This is a list of apps I have installed in Win 8 DP that seem to work so far. Please add apps that you have tried successfully, and those that do not work for you. I think we all understand that some apps that do / do not work for me will / will not work for you due to differences with our various setups:

CCleaner
EasyBCD
inSSIDer
MalwareBytes Antimalware
Last Pass
Nook Reader from Barnes and Noble
PDF X-Change Viewer
Privacy Mantra
Quicken Deluxe 2011
Revo Uninstaller Pro
Spybot Search and Destroy
File Hippo Update Checker
What's In Startup
Zinio Reader with Adobe Air
Adobe Flash v11 (x86 and x64 versions)
Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE)
Office 2010 Excel and Word

As I work with other apps I will add them to the list.

p.s. My Canon Printer apps also installed. Note: the above links to Adobe and Canon are not from me.

edit:
Google Chrome 14
Windows Live Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker
IESpel
Java Plug-in 2 x64

Win8 grabbed my Epson Workforce 500 AIO printer and installed it without a whimper.

Since W8 would not install AVG 2012 Free or Pro, 32 bit or 64 bit, I installed Malware Bytes Pro. No problemo!

I also have Firefox 7.01, flash and Shockwave installed and running just fine.

I even have Solitaire from XP running just fine. So far so good!

Disable UAC and Take Ownership are also working.
Tweaking the registry for maximum RAM usage is also working.

If MS doesn't screw it up somewhere along the way to the final release, Win-8 should be a keeper.

Cheers mates!

Bump!

I want to add one more program to the Win-8 list.

Trojan Hunter 5.5
I've used this program for years and have used it to clean up countless customer's PC's.

It's not typically a FREE program but when first installed it will run just like the full paid version for a 30 day trial period.
I've just updated my ver 5.3, to 5.5 for only $9.95.... a good deal at twice the price.

It installs and runs just fine on Win-8/DP 64 bit.
The paid version will also run the T.H. Guard, in real time and runs right along side my other Anti-Malware software with NO problems.

Super Anti-spyware also works with Win-8. That too, runs in real time.

Merry Christmas!

Bump! Bump!

Since the last update from AVG, it now loads and runs on Windows 8, with NO problems.

Just be sure to get the proper version for your OS (32 bit, or 64 bit).

Cheers Mates!
