Locked "documents and Settings: folder

New Member
I am signed on to Win7 as the administrator but I can not get into my "documents and Settings" folder. How do I get access to this folder

Hello and welcome to the forums. The "Documents and Settings" folder is only there for backward compatibility with older programs to preserve paths and syntax that maybe used by them in their code. They are actually only pointers and you can think of them more like shortcuts pointing to the actual locations of the files on your computer. You can read this article for more specific information as to the actual real locations of the files that the old "Documents and Settings" folder actually point to.
