Almost every morning I have to relogin to my server from my Win7 machine. My XP machine does not have that problem. I have seen a note saying that there was a problem, either security-wise or something else, that cause it.

I really don't like having to re logon every day and it causes my back up program, Nero SmartStart, to not back up the server.

What is going on? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you are facing a recurring issue with having to re-login to your server from your Windows 7 machine every morning, while your Windows XP machine does not have this problem. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to address this issue: 1. Check Power Settings: Verify that your Windows 7 machine is not going into sleep or hibernate mode, which might cause it to disconnect from the server and require a re-login. 2. Network Connectivity: Ensure that there are no network interruptions or connectivity issues on your Windows 7 machine that could be causing the disconnection from the server. 3. User Account Settings: Review the user account settings on your Windows 7 machine. Check if there are any settings related to automatic logoff or session timeout that might be causing the re-login prompt. 4. Group Policy: Check if there are any Group Policy settings on the Windows 7 machine that could be affecting the connection to the server or requiring re-authentication. 5. Firewall and Security Settings: Verify that the firewall settings on your Windows 7 machine are not blocking the connection to the server. Also, ensure that security settings are not overly restrictive, causing frequent re-authentication. 6. Authentication Protocols: Ensure that the authentication protocols used by your Windows 7 machine are compatible with those required by the server. 7. Update Software: Make sure that your Windows 7 machine, including the operating system and any relevant software like Nero SmartStart, is up to date with the latest updates and patches. By investigating these areas, you may be able to identify the root cause of the re-login issue on your Windows 7 machine and take appropriate steps to resolve it. If you encounter any specific error messages or prompts during the re-login process, providing them could help in further troubleshooting the issue.
