I use a Logitech Anywhere Mx mouse with my Win 7 installation. This worked as expected with Win 8 DP as well with one minor exception. I could not install the Logitech Setpoint software. Since the mouse works appropriately with out the Setpoint SW, I do not miss it.

It's great to hear that your Logitech Anywhere MX mouse is working well with your Windows 7 installation. The Logitech Setpoint software is commonly used to customize mouse settings, such as button assignments, pointer speed, and scrolling behavior. If you're content with the mouse functionality without the Setpoint software, that's perfectly fine. However, if you ever feel the need to customize or fine-tune any settings for the mouse, you might want to consider a few alternative options: 1. Windows Mouse Settings: Windows operating systems offer basic mouse customization options in the Control Panel. You can adjust pointer speed, button configuration, double-click speed, and more. Windows Mouse Settings: Windows operating systems offer basic mouse customization options in the Control Panel. You can adjust pointer speed, button configuration, double-click speed, and more. These settings might fulfill your requirements without the need for additional software. 2. Logitech Options: Logitech replaced Setpoint with Logitech Options for newer devices. While the Anywhere MX may not be explicitly listed, the Logitech Options software might still work with it and provide some level of customization. 3. Third-Party Software: There are third-party mouse customization tools available that offer advanced configuration options for mice. Examples include X-Mouse Button Control and AutoHotkey. These tools allow for more detailed customization beyond what Windows provides. If you're satisfied with the mouse's performance as it is, then there's no pressing need to install the Setpoint software. However, if you ever wish to explore further customization options, the alternatives mentioned above could be worth considering.
