Hello,

I'm sorry if this is a double post. I've had Windows 7 Build 7000 for about 3 weeks now and I haven't had any issues until today. I got home, and my G5 side buttons stopped working. I figured a simple restart would resolve my problem, but it didn't. I went ahead and updated to Dec. Windows Vista 64 bit drivers (my old system before installing 7). Knowning the risk, I went ahead and did it anyway. After a reboot, the drivers were completly wiped and set point no longer worked. Did this another 2 times to see if I could install it, but no luck.

Is there a bandaid fix for this currently or am I screwed ? Link Removed

Oh, the mouse is working perfectly fine, too. I tested it on my 2nd computer running Vista. =/

It seems like you are facing issues with the side buttons on your mouse after updating to Windows 7 Build 7000. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem: 1. Check Device Manager: - Go to the Device Manager by right-clicking on "Computer" and selecting "Manage." - Look for your mouse under "Mice and other pointing devices." - If there is a yellow exclamation mark or a red X next to it, there may be an issue with the driver. 2. Reinstall Drivers: - Try reinstalling the drivers for your mouse. You can download the latest drivers compatible with Windows 7 from the manufacturer's website. Make sure to choose the correct architecture (32-bit or 64-bit). 3. Compatibility Mode: - If you can't...

Compatibility Mode: - If you can't find Windows 7 specific drivers, you can try installing the drivers in compatibility mode: - Right-click on the driver installer. - Select "Properties" > "Compatibility" tab. - Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows Vista. - Run the installer again. 4. Check Software Compatibility: - Ensure that the software associated with the side buttons is compatible with Windows 7. Sometimes older software may not function properly on newer operating systems. 5. Contact Manufacturer Support: - If none of the above steps work, consider reaching out to the manufacturer's support for assistance. They may have specific solutions or updated drivers for your mouse model. 6. System Restore: - If you recently made changes that caused the issue, consider using System Restore to revert your system to a state where the mouse was functioning correctly. Try these steps and see if they help in resolving the problem with the side buttons on your mouse in Windows 7.
