Windows 7 Losing IE from drop down bar on my Sony Vaio

I have lost the IE icon. I would like to submit a screen shot to show you what's going on.
Unfortunately, I don't know how to upload one? Any help would be welcome only my way of working and saving and using favourites has been crippled for days.Please keep it simple!
