This happened to be a one off for me, and I have no method of reproduction. During a reboot of my computer due to Windows Explorer crashing the BootMGR was missing. This was easily fixed using the Startup Repair on the install DVD. However, it made me a little concerned. So my question is, has anyone else had this occur with the public release and what have you done to keep it from recurring?

    BootMgr

Same thing happened to me once so far. It happened after I was under window7 and trying to access my Vista partition (changed my drive letter to be able to access it). It worked fin but when I reboot after this i had the message "bootmgr lost" so i had to use startup repair disk as well. I don't know the exact cause of this but it would be nice to know.

I've been using Windows 7 since the Alpha build 6801 and have used every build after that up until 7022 and have never once encountered this issue.. strange.. I'm glad to hear it's easy to fix though in case it does happen to me.. ;)
