Micro SD Card Classes ?

I went shopping on the amazon site for a micro SD memory card for a smart phone and noticed some said "class 10" or "class 6". Can anyone shead some light on these different classes because the ad's don't tell me a thing.

Class 10 is the fastest class of sd card, the lower the class the slower the sd card can read\write.
