Hello,

Flash 8 says Century Gothic is missing and indeed do not see it in the Windows/Fonts folder.

So I thought I would copy it from my Vista partition. I did, but upon restarting my PC with the win7 partition the font is still not there. Incedently I noticed that there are no True Type fonts in the Fonts folder but only Open Type. And I only see 133, while I had saw twice that many when browsing that folder under Vista...

I searched and found an entry in the win KB that mentions running fontreg, but it's not on win7...

Anyone can help? Thanks.

Roberto

Solution
To address the issue with the missing Century Gothic font in Windows 7 and the difference in font types between your Windows 7 and Vista partitions, you can try the following steps:

Reinstalling Century Gothic Font:

  1. Download the Font:
    • Locate the Century Gothic font file (usually "GOTHIC.TTF" for TrueType format) from a trusted source on the internet.
    []Install the Font:
    • Copy the font file to the Fonts folder on your Windows 7 partition: C:\Windows\Fonts.
    • Right-click on the font file and select "Install" to add it to your system.

    ]Reboot the System:
    • Restart your computer to allow Windows 7 to recognize and register the newly added Century Gothic font...

Dealing with TrueType and OpenType Fonts:

    • TrueType vs. OpenType:
    • Windows 7 supports both TrueType (.TTF) and OpenType (.OTF) fonts. The absence of TrueType fonts in the Fonts folder might not be an issue as long as the necessary fonts for your applications are present.

      Running the FontReg Utility:

    • FontReg in Windows 7:
    • The FontReg tool might not be readily available in Windows 7. You can try a manual installation of the font as described above. By reinstalling the Century Gothic font as a TrueType font in your Windows 7 Fonts folder, you should be able to resolve the missing font issue. Make sure to obtain font files from reliable sources to avoid any potential security risks. Additionally, the difference in font types between systems should not pose compatibility issues as long as the essential fonts are present for your applications to function correctly.
