A missing cobra in New York City has been 'tweeting' about its adventures via a spoof microblogging account that's racked up nearly 100,000 followers.
The 20-inch snake escaped from the Reptile House at Bronx Zoo, run by the non-profit Wildlife Conservation Society, at the weekend.
Staff have since resorted to setting traps baited with live mice.
In the meantime, Twitter page Bronx Zoo's Cobra appeared online and has racked up more than 96,000 followers - nearly 90,000 more than Bronx Zoo's own page.
Written in the voice of the deadly Egyptian specimen, the page's posts document such adventures as: 'At Planet Rose in the East Village to get my karaoke on. Gonna sing some White Snake.'
