Wireless/USB/Bluetooth Modems used to work on my pc, Until a few months ago, Suddenly all my modems stopped working.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit absolutely refuses to Install/Update Modem Drivers. Please can anyone help me? I am so frustrated and i really need to get my pc to work on the net because i have to work ! :(

Tried: Haeuweii E220 USB Modem - Worked, Doesnt want to install Modem Drivers but everything else installs perfectly

Nokia N78 - Cable - Worked, Does not want to install Modem Drivers but everything else installs perfectly

Nokia N78 - Bluetooth Dialup, Worked, Does not want to install Modem Drivers but everything else installs perfectly

^ ^ ^ I have tried to update the drivers VIA Device Manager, Windows suggests they are up to date. Manually get drivers from the NET and still it wont workk. All of those Modems Configs works perfectly on my Mom's, Brother's and my Friend's Computers and they all have Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit like me. Id love some links to download a few fixes if you would please? I am posting topic from a friends phone, Please help me, i would appreciate any help rendered! Error Code (31)

Kind Regards

    []Update Modem Drivers Manually:
    • Visit the manufacturer's website for your modem (Huawei, Nokia) and download the latest drivers specifically designed for your modem model.
    • Manually update the drivers through Device Manager by selecting "Update Driver Software" and then choosing the option to browse your computer for driver software.
    [
    ]Check for System Updates:
    • Ensure that Windows 7 is up to date by checking for Windows updates. Sometimes, updates can include fixes for driver issues.
    []Disable and Re-enable Modem:
    • In Device Manager, you can try disabling the modem and then re-enabling it. This might trigger Windows to re-detect the device.
    [
    ]Troubleshoot Network Connectivity:
    • If you're also experiencing issues with LAN connectivity, you can try troubleshooting the network connection by running the built-in network troubleshooter.

Additional Recommendations:

  • Ensure that your antivirus software or firewall is not blocking the modem's functionalities.
  • Check in the BIOS settings if there are any options related to modem or LAN that could be affecting connectivity.
  • Consider updating the chipset drivers on your computer as they are essential for hardware functionality.

Possible Solutions for Error Code 31:

  • Error Code 31 can sometimes be related to registry issues. You can try to use Microsoft's official troubleshooter tool to fix issues with the network adapter, which might indirectly help with the modem connectivity as well.
  • If the issue persists, consider performing a System Restore to a point where the modems were working correctly.
Hopefully, these steps will help you troubleshoot and resolve the modem connectivity issues on your Windows 7 system. If you encounter any difficulties or need further assistance, feel free to ask for more help!
