Windows 10 Multiple BSOD

I have done the scannow and dism, the last command finally was able to be conducted.
The first command (scannow) found a damaged file and could not repair it again.
So I ran the second command (dism), but it could not find the source file.
I tried to run the first command (scannow) again, hoping that it would repair it, but no luck.

I'll run a scan with Lenovo solution center tonight and will keep you up to date!

I tried the hardware scan and it found one error (SMART Short Self Test).
But it did not solve it, the program only gave me an error code.

I tried the hardware scan and it found one error (SMART Short Self Test)
This can be indicative of Hard drive issues even imminent failure.

Please run Seatools to check the drive in question

Hi,
same bugchecks as usual. csrss.exe is a windows process and its usually something else causing the process to fail, this can include either hardware or software and eventually through testing we will discover the culprit.

You could check the event logs too. See if an event coincides with the bsod.

Check for malware using Malwarebytes
Free Anti-Malware & Internet Security Software

Post any new dump files..

Hi,

So I runned seatools and it detected an error. (see appendix)
It recommended to run SeaTools DOS.
Hence, I burned it on a CD like memtest86 and tried to run it in the same way.
However, it does not detect the CD for some reason?

Malwarebytes did not find anything suspicious. (see appendix)

Furthermore, how do I check in the event log whether an event coincides with the BSOD?
Also last night all programs suddenly closed and I could not open anything, even windows task manager would not open.
Strangely enough Malwarebytes Anti-Malware did gave an error saying:

"Malware Anti-Malware: mbam.exe - Application Error

The exception unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x00000000737CD6FD

Click on OK to terminate the program"

Of course I clicked OK, but it did not solved anything.
So I shut the pc down by pushing the power button for 10seconds.

I hope this will provide you sufficient information. :)

Hi,
please follow this FAQ on how to test then repair {I know you tested already but please go through the process again and run the fix}
How to use SeaTools for Windows

The dump files were same as before.

Good luck with the above testing. Please post the results.. As to why Malwarebytes crashed I'm unsure but the scan looked fine.

Hi,

I have followed the instructions and runned it twice, both end with the same results.

Hi,
apparently this drive won ''drive failure of the month'' lol, something I found whilst doing a search on your drive:

Over recent weeks CDR – Manchester Data Recovery Services – have seen a high incidence of failure in the following Seagate / Samsung Momentus HDDs:

  • ST1000LM024 (Can also be labelled as HN-M101MBB)
  • ST1000LM025 (integrated USB portable HDD)
  • ST750LM022
  • ST750LM023 (integrated USB portable HDD)
  • ST640LM001
  • ST500LM012
  • ST500LM013 (integrated USB portable HDD)
Frequently these hard disk drives are packaged as Seagate hard disk drives. The HDDs we have received have been inside both laptops and external caddies. The drives use native Samsung technology. Since Seagate acquired Samsung drives in December 2011 Seagate have continued to manufacturer Samsung HDDs but have started using Seagate branding and model numbers.
Reference: Hard disk failure of the month - Samsung / Seagate ST1000LM024 - CDR - Manchester Data Recovery Services

Anyhoo this kinda backs up what Seatools is reporting that the drive needs replacing.

Mmmm strange.
Which drive are you referring to?
Do you mean the external Seagate drive or my internal hard drive?
I also do not understand completely how the external Seagate drive is able to cause the BSOD, while this external hard drive is often disconnected when such a BSOD appears.

Hence I have to replace the internal hard drive.
But, is it alright if I'd do it myself or is that too risky?

Furthermore (I do not know if this is true but) since these hard drives have these troubles, would it be better to replace it with a different type hdd?

Finally, would this solve both BSOD?

Many thanks in advance!

Almost always in these instances we are discussing the 'C' drive.
I just discovered that my internal hard drive is also from Seagate
Lol!

Why not consider an SSD? If you can find one thats compatible then it's one of the best ways of improving performance and it will feel like a new machine lol.

Oh this may help you too:

I would say most likely as the dump files were indicating hardware but sometimes you just never know...

Your very welcome please post back and let us know how things work out. Good luck!
