Windows 7 My PC might be going in the bin soon...

Solution
I have taken out the card (nothing to uninstall since it came with no software or drivers, just a bare card), sure enough when I took it out, and looked at the chip, it said NEC on it. :)

Hopefully this should stop the BSOD's.

Thank you very for the help!!!!

Please replace your Intel Storage Controller drivers from the Intel Download Center - Link Removed

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

http://www.renesas.eu/products/soc/usb_assp/index.jsp

Could you tell me which one of these is the right one (if any), also I can't find the driver for the Intel Storage Controller.

With the USB 3.0 problem, my motherboard's website says that I only have an Intel and a NEC USB controller no NEC controller.

Please explain.

Thank you very much for the help, it's greatly appreciated.

I don't know which Renesas device that you have, but you are looking for the NEC USB controller (that's the correct one.

Please let us know the exact make and model of your motherboard and we'll see if we can locate a link to the Intel controller.
Also, I can't recall - are you using an SSD? If so, please ensure that it's not connected to the Marvell controller.

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe

I am not using an SSD, although my boot up times are very slow for a PC this new and this spec...

Could you possibly locate the correct USB controller as well, since I can't seen to find it.

Thank you very much for the help,
Its greatly appreciated.

Please PM a Staff Member to consolidate all of your posts - it's confusing (and it's probably making the repair more difficult than it should be)

I will try to locate the driver this afternoon when I return home from work.

Nice mobo...look if you do decide to toss out the PC...let me know...I'll take it...;)

The Asus website says you don't have a NEC USB controller. How did this get installed on your system? Do you have an add-on USB card?
Where did you get your installation media from? What does the installation disk say on the face of it?

I have a USB 3 Add on card that connects via the PCI Express slot, the installation media came with my motherboard, in the form of a disc. On the disc it says;
P8Z77-V Deluxe
Intel Z77 Chipset Support DVD Rev.595.02

If it's the add on USB 3.0 card thats causing the issue, I can remove it.

Thank you very much.

It's not necessarily causing the issue - but I suspect it's the "owner" of the outdated NEC USB 3.0 drivers.
Please un-install it's software and physically remove the card from the system temporarily - see if that helps the BSOD's
