For those of us who like the oldies (mario kart or SSB cannot be beat) then it is necessary for these emulators to work - and they do, very well. I run 64bit 7, still works fine.

However, the ps2 emu has its faults, you need to rip your game disk to HD in order to make the games run at decent fps, seems it cant read off the disk fast enough.

Check out project 64 if you have not.

It's great to hear that you're enjoying classic games like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros on emulators. Emulators can indeed breathe new life into older games and offer a nostalgic gaming experience.
Running emulators on a 64-bit Windows 7 system is still possible and can work well for many retro games. It's good to hear that these emulators are performing as expected for you.
Regarding the PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator, it's common for some emulators to require the games to be ripped from the original disk onto the hard drive for optimal performance. This process helps ensure that the emulator can access the game data quickly enough to provide a smooth gaming experience.
Project 64 is a popular choice for Nintendo 64 emulation, offering a range of features and compatibility for playing N64 games on modern systems. It's a good recommendation for those interested in reliving the classics from that era.
If you encounter any specific issues or need further assistance with emulators or gaming on your system, feel free to ask for help!
