When I first installed windows 7 pro 64bit on my desktop and is wired and my internet work flawlessly now I cant get connected to my router it wont assign an ip i have set one static but still wont work all of my roommates computers work on the wireless and so does mine. i have plugged the same Ethernet cord in my laptop and got on the internet so it has something to do with windows i cant figure it out. :frown:

Windows 7 clearly has some serious networking problems. I occasionaly 'loose' all network connections and rebooting doesn't help but found I can get them back by going to task manager and 'ending' explorer.exe and then restarting it. Hope it works for you.
