New Features Unveiled in Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds 22621.1906 & 22631.1906

Introduction​

Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.1906 and Build 22631.1906 (KB5027311) are now available in the Beta Channel for Windows Insiders. Here are the highlights of this release:

Key Features​

  • Build 22631.1906 introduces new features that are rolling out, while Build 22621.1906 comes with new features off by default.
  • Insiders previously on Build 22624 will be automatically moved to Build 22631 via an enablement package, facilitating the rollout of new features.
  • Improvements in Build 22631.1906 include the ability to hide the time and date in the system tray and diagnose network problems via the network icon in the system tray.
  • The Lock screen network flyout has been aligned with Windows 11 design principles, and Windows Security (firewall) notification dialogs have been updated to match Windows 11 visuals.

Enhancements and Fixes​

  • Support for bridging adapters via command line using netsh.
  • Added links to advanced properties for network adapters and internet properties in Settings.
  • Ability to view Wi-Fi passwords for known networks.
  • Additional options for daily and weekly data limits and visualization of data limit exceeded.
  • Joining Bluetooth Personal Area networks under Settings > Bluetooth & devices for internet sharing via Bluetooth devices.
  • Uninstalling Win32 apps via the Settings app from Start or search.
  • Updated settings for wheel devices like the Surface Dial.
  • Compatibility fixes for unsupported registry usage.

Known Issues​

- Toggling the option to hide date and time in the system tray shows the System Tray clock while toggling it off hides it (currently reversed).
