beepa has this week rolled out a new update for its video capturing and benchmarking tool Fraps to fix various issues like one that led to crashes on Windows 2000 machines, and one that prevented DirectX from being initialized at startup.
Fraps 3.2.6 also resolves a crashing issue while recording, and a bug that causes graphic corruption of individual frames in recorded movies. The updated version can be downloaded from this page .

Due to the early ability to test Windows 7 Service Pack 1, I was able to get information to FRAPS developers about the DWM (Aero FPS/Movies/Screenshots) feature malfunctioning under SP1. The latest beta release of 3.3.0 has corrected this problem. It is predicted that a non-beta build of 3.3.0 will be released soon with a fix so that you can once again use FRAPS to record and monitor the entire desktop.

FRAPS 3.4.0 RELEASE NOTES
-------------------------

The latest version of Fraps includes an update to the loop recording mode, allowing you to specify a custom length for the buffer (rather than the default 30 seconds). To activate the recording loop simply press and hold your video capture hotkey until the Fraps counter turns pink, indicating that loop recording has begun.

We have also included new optimizations for recording at high resolutions such as 1920x1080 (1080P). Performance gains should be seen in most OpenGL and DirectX games with Fraps 3.4. Changes since the last major release are listed below:
