New Fraps

A new Version 3.4.2 of the FPS measurement, benchmarking and video capture utility FRAPS has been released. This version improves OpenGL capture speed, and has several fixes.
 
A new Version 3.4.4 of the FPS measurement, benchmarking and video capture utility FRAPS has been released. This version improves Windows Vista/7 Aero Desktop capturing performance, reduces FRAPS memory usage, and has several fixes.

A new Version 3.4.6 of the FPS measurement, benchmarking and video capture utility FRAPS has been released. This version has several bug fixes.
 
*BETA* - Fraps 3.4.7 Build 13765 is currently available in closed testing. The changes are not currently available to the public. The prior version included the following changes:

A new Version 3.5.0 of the FPS measurement, benchmarking and video capture utility FRAPS has been released. This version adds support for AVI files larger than 4GB, as well as an option to split AVIs every 4GB for legacy support, along with several bug fixes.
 
A new Version 3.5.1 of the FPS measurement, benchmarking and video capture utility FRAPS has been released. This version adds support for exFAT drives writing larger than 4GB, as well as fixing a crash when using large custom resolutions.

A new Version 3.5.5 of the FPS measurement, benchmarking and video capture utility FRAPS has been released. This fixes several bugs.
 
A beta version of FRAPS has been made available to private testers. This version is 3.5.6 Build 15316 beta. It is not available to the public, or regular customers, and no new list of feature improvements is available. It may, however, signify that a new version should be expected some time soon.
 
A new Version 3.5.6 of the FPS measurement, benchmarking and video capture utility FRAPS has been released. This version fixes several audio-related bugs.
 
A new Version 3.5.7 of the FPS measurement, benchmarking and video capture utility FRAPS has been released. This version fixes several bugs.

Indeed, 3.5.9 build 15586 still does not work with DWM in Windows 8 (This is the desktop screen capture). This is likely because of the Start Screen and large number of changes in WDDM.

Fraps 3.5.99 - 26th February, 2013


- Fixed counter not appearing in Aero desktop (DWM) and DX10 games after latest Windows Update

Unfortunately, the screen capture problem for Microsoft Windows 8 still seems to keep FRAPS out of being able to record in that operating system. For more info on that problem, check this link.

In the interim, Windows 7 users should have no problem with FRAPS 3.5.99. FRAPS show fps, record video game movies, screen capture software
