I just got a new gaming PC and I installed ubuntu 9.01 first and ran that for a while until I got win 7. Now that I got windows 7, I get frequent crashes with errors like MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and PENN_LIST_CORRUPT.
I have now idea what these mean but I figured I should go through and manually update all my drivers and run a windows memory diagnostic(which came up with nothing wrong).
I'm not sure what to do now. Sometimes it happens during games but sometimes it happens when I just have firefox open.
I heard somebody say something about disabling memory shading and caching, but I couldn't find and options like that in the BIOS so I don't think that these thing apply but I could be wrong.

Sounds like you have a RAM issue. Try reseating the sticks. If that doesn't work, take a stick out and run the pc, see if it still errors. Try with each stick.. if the machine errors out on one stick and not the other then you know which is the bad stick..
