Windows 7 no audio windows dvd maker

when i burn a downloaded movie some some have no audio great picture just no sound i use windows dvd maker.can anyone help to explain why this is.thanks.if i watch the movie on my laptop audio is fine its when i burn to dvd.only some do this and others are fine. i am new to computers and have been told i probably need a codec for my dvd burner.thanks again for any help

Install Gspot http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/GSpot270a.zip drag the movie to it and it will tell you what codecs it has.

Also, try installing KmPlayer KMPlayer - Download or VLCplayer VideoLAN - VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player since they can play many types of codecs.

I have vlc player and windows media player they both play most movies fine its when i try to burn a copy ov the movie with windows dvd maker some burn great but some ov them have great picture but no audio.i am new to computers and was told movies that are downloaded have different codecs and it is probably an audio codec i need as the picture burns great.like i said not all do this just some.thanks for your reply any help is much appriciated
