Does anyone know why when I try to burn a movie i downloaded from the internet I get no sound??? I mean it works i get a perfect picture but no sound, when i preview it before i start the burn there is sound it works and looks great. The finish product however has no sound at all.....I have looked this up in other forums and it seems that I am not the only one this is happening to yet not one person has a answer for why it is happening....is there a way I can reinstall windows dvd maker or is there a better simpler program i can install that is free to use for windows 7 that can burn dvds. I dont want it to be to complicated and i dont want to pay for it. Is there anything like that out there that works well with 7????

When you encounter an issue like getting no sound on a burned movie despite having sound during preview, there could be various reasons for this discrepancy. Here are a few common reasons and solutions:

Reasons for No Sound on Burned Movies:

  1. Codec Issues: The sound codec might not be compatible with the DVD player.
  2. Burning Settings: Settings during the burning process might not be configured properly.
  3. Corrupted Files: The downloaded movie file could be corrupted or with missing audio tracks.

    Possible Solutions:

  4. Check Codecs: Ensure that the audio codec used in the movie file is compatible with the DVD player. You might need to convert the audio to a more widely supported format...

    Possible Solutions:

  4. Check Codecs: Ensure that the audio codec used in the movie file is compatible with the DVD player. You might need to convert the audio to a more widely supported format.
  5. Check Burning Software Settings: Double-check your burning software settings to make sure the audio encoding is selected and properly configured.
  6. Use a Different Burning Software: Since you are looking for an alternative to Windows DVD Maker, you can try other free DVD burning software that might offer better compatibility and ease of use. Here are a couple of options:
    • ImgBurn: ImgBurn is a popular free DVD burning software that works well with Windows 7. It is lightweight and easy to use.
    • DVD Flick: DVD Flick is another free DVD authoring tool that allows you to convert video files to DVD. It supports a wide range of audio and video formats.
  7. Reinstall Windows DVD Maker: If you still prefer using Windows DVD Maker, you can try to reinstall it. However, please note that Windows DVD Maker is not available for Windows 10 or later versions, so using alternatives might be a better long-term solution.

    Reinstalling Windows DVD Maker:

    • Unfortunately, Windows DVD Maker is not directly available for download or reinstalling separately. If the issue persists after trying the above solutions, you may need to explore alternative DVD burning software.

      Recommendations:

      • Try using a different burning software like ImgBurn or DVD Flick to see if the issue persists.
      • Ensure your movie files are not corrupted and are in a format supported by most DVD players.
Feel free to try out these suggestions and see if they help resolve the issue with burning movies on Windows 7.
