I use an Nvidia N9800GX2 1gig card on my system but my mobo is for Crossfire.
As the N9800GX2 incoprorates 2GPU's is this this the equivalent of an SLi configuration??
I ask this as when i go into the Nvidia Control Panel it recomends that i set it as Multi GPU mode and have done so.
When using COD4 in the graphics settings i have selected the Dual Video Card option and it runs just fine.
The way i see it is that this card is 2 cards in 1.

Phil.

It seems like you are using an NVIDIA N9800GX2 graphics card in a system with a motherboard that supports Crossfire technology, which is typically associated with AMD/ATI graphics cards. Let's clarify a few points related to your setup: 1. NVIDIA N9800GX2 - Dual GPU Configuration: The NVIDIA N9800GX2 graphics card indeed incorporates dual GPUs on a single card. Each GPU works together to provide improved performance, similar to how SLI (Scalable Link Interface) configurations operate with NVIDIA GPUs. 2. SLI vs. Crossfire: SLI (Scalable Link Interface) is NVIDIA's technology for linking multiple GPUs together to improve graphics performance, while Crossfire is AMD's equivalent technology for achieving the same goal with...
It seems like you are using an NVIDIA N9800GX2 graphics card in a system with a motherboard that supports Crossfire technology, which is typically associated with AMD/ATI graphics cards. Each GPU works together to provide improved performance, similar to how SLI (Scalable Link Interface) configurations operate with NVIDIA GPUs. 2. SLI vs. Crossfire: SLI (Scalable Link Interface) is NVIDIA's technology for linking multiple GPUs together to improve graphics performance, while Crossfire is AMD's equivalent technology for achieving the same goal with their GPUs. Since you have an NVIDIA card with two GPUs (N9800GX2), it operates in a similar way to an SLI setup. 3. NVIDIA Control Panel Settings: When the NVIDIA Control Panel recommends setting the card to Multi GPU mode, it is likely optimizing the configuration for the dual-GPU setup on your N9800GX2 card. This ensures that both GPUs are utilized effectively in applications and games that support multi-GPU configurations. 4. Dual Video Card Option in Games: Selecting the Dual Video Card option in games like COD4 helps in utilizing the dual-GPU setup of the N9800GX2 effectively. This option allows the game to efficiently distribute the workload across both GPUs, resulting in better performance. In summary, your NVIDIA N9800GX2 graphics card operates similarly to an SLI configuration due to its dual-GPU nature. By utilizing the Multi GPU mode in the NVIDIA Control Panel and selecting the Dual Video Card option in games, you are making the most out of the dual-GPU setup for improved graphics performance. If you have any more questions or need further assistance regarding your setup, feel free to ask!
