I am using Windows 7 at home on my Macbook pro (boot camp). After installing windows 7 I connected to the internet and it gave me two passwords and made my home network secure. The second password is the one that works within the Windows 7 environment but I managed to wipe what was called the 'old network password' or similar. Now I can't access the internet when in Mac mode as the password is not accepted.
As Windows 7 gave me the 'old netwrks password' would anybody tell me whether I can find it again or do I have to re-install it all (a real pain due to Autocad licencing).

I hope I am in the right place for some help!

Solution
It seems like you're facing an issue with network passwords after installing Windows 7 on your MacBook Pro using Boot Camp. Here's a general approach to help you with your network password situation:

Retrieving Network Password on Windows 7:

  1. Check Credential Manager:
    • Windows 7 stores network passwords in the Credential Manager. You can access it by typing "Credential Manager" into the Start menu search and checking under the "Windows Credentials" tab.
    []Network and Sharing Center:
    • Navigate to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. Click on "Manage wireless networks" on the left side. Find your network, right-click, and select "Properties." You may find the stored network key here.

    ]Command Prompt:
    • You can try using the Command Prompt to show the saved Wi-Fi passwords. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following command:
      Code:
netsh wlan show profile name="YOUR_NETWORK_NAME" key=clear
Replace "YOUR_NETWORK_NAME" with the name of your wireless network.

      Reinstalling Network Password:

If you are unable to retrieve the old network password, you might need to consider reconfiguring the network settings on your Mac. Here's how you can do it:
    []Forget the Network:
    • On your Mac, go to Network Preferences and forget the network that requires the old password.
    [
    ]Reconfigure Wi-Fi:
    • Reconnect to the Wi-Fi network on your Mac and enter the correct Wi-Fi password.

      Additional Tips:

      • Ensure that the network settings on your Mac and Windows 7 are in sync.
      • If you have trouble with specific password settings or configurations, you may need to contact your network administrator or service provider for assistance.
Remember, network passwords are system-specific, so the password provided by Windows 7 may not work directly on your Mac side. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you encounter any specific issues during this process!
