Windows 7 Ongoing BSODS

Acrophis

New Member
Hey all.

This is my second thread about BSODs, but this time it's for a different computer.

My desktop has been bluescreening for over a year or more. For some reason, having a high percentage of CPU usage prevents it from happening most of the time. I have been using this as a workaround for some time (I was able to run my PC for a full week while afk training on Mu Online, with 3 clients open using up around 60% cpu. Normally I crash at least once every few days).

Anyway. I performed memtest on my ram 11 times over a 4 hour span and it gave no errors whatsoever.

I have attached all of the necessary files if anyone would be willing to take a look at this for me.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you.

SP1 isn't installed, please do the following:
Installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1
1. Visit the PC manufacturer's website and update ALL drivers. DO NOT use Windows Update or the "Update drivers" function of Device Manager.
2. Check Device Manager for any unknown/disabled devices - if there are unknown/disabled devices, fix them with the latest drivers from the device manufacturer's website (not the PC Manufacturer)
3. Visit Windows Update and get all updates (may take repeated visits)
4. Visit Windows Update and get Service Pack 1 (usually under Important Updates). Read these notes for installing SP1: Steps to follow before you install Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 from the Microsoft Download Center
5. Visit Windows Update and get any other available updates. May take repeated visits, but keep it up until you get several "Windows is updated" results.
If you're having difficulties with installing a Service Pack, please use the SURTool from this link: What is the System Update Readiness Tool?
Also, check out this troubleshooting link from Microsoft: Troubleshoot problems installing Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

I have had limited success in installing updates/Service Packs when using a "clean boot". I suspect that I'm just bypassing the problem - and that it can come back to bite me in the butt later on.

Your AsIo device is having issues. Please uninstall Asus PCProbe. If you do not (or haven't had) PCProbe installed, please make a list of the Asus programs installed at Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program.

Video drivers date from 2010 and must be updated:

atikmdag.sys Tue Aug 3 21:39:08 2010 (4C58C4BC)
ATI Video driver (remove the Catalyst Control Center and only install the Display Driver)

Chipset/network drivers date from 2009 and must be updated:
nvsmu.sys Mon Jun 29 03:36:37 2009 (4A486F05)
nVidia nForce System Management Controller (nVidia nForce chipset driver)
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=nvsmu.sys

nvmf6264.sys Thu Jul 30 19:48:18 2009 (4A723142)
nVidia nForce network driver
Link Removed - Invalid URL

ZoneAlarm has a prior history of causing BSOD's on some systems. Please un-install it temporarily to test. Use a free antivirus and the Windows Firewall while testing.

If all of the above doesn't fix things, then I'd have to suspect a hardware problem. Please run these free hardware diagnostics: Link Removed - Invalid URL

servicepack.pngI updated my service pack and was greeted with this box on restart. The option to install it has appeared again in my windows update list. Trying again.

The 2 most common reasons for failure to install a Service Pack are: Outdated drivers and/or malware.

Update ALL drivers from the PC Manufacturer's website.
Scan for malware with an independent scanner: Link Removed - Invalid URL

Then try installing it again.

If you previously had a malware infection, please let us know (as the damage may continue to prevent the installation of the Service Pack).

Here's an update. I have so far updated my display and BIOS drivers and attempted to install service pack 1 again. During a very lengthy configuration process (before the login screen) my pc bluescreened 3 times at different stages of the installation. This time I got no message like the last attempt, but service pack 1 is still showing as an available update in windows updater, so I assume it didn't work again. Next I will attempt to update my chipset drivers and install the service pack again.
