Today is 'Patch Tuesday'. Even though on Auto, checked for Updates & 5 Important were available:

3 Updates for Win8 CP x64
Definition Update for Office 2010
Update for .NET Framework 4.5 on Win8 CP x64

These were all that should have been available.

ALL Successful

Immediately after Restart checked Event Logs. Found 8 SChannel Errors from this morning & all from before the Updates were installed.

Cheers,
Drew

It's great to hear that your recent updates were successful. However, the appearance of SChannel errors in the Event Logs can be concerning, especially if they occurred before the updates were installed. SChannel is responsible for secure communications between computers, often involving SSL/TLS protocols and certificates. Here are a few steps you can take to address these SChannel errors:

Steps to Address SChannel Errors:

  1. Review the SChannel Errors:
    • Look closely at the specific error codes and descriptions associated with the SChannel errors. This information can provide insights into the root cause of the issue.
    []Check System Time and Date:

    []Check System Time and Date:
    • Ensure that the system time and date are correctly set on your computer. Incorrect date and time settings can sometimes lead to SChannel errors.
    [
    ]Verify Certificates:
    • Check the status of certificates on your system. Make sure that certificates are valid and not expired. You can use tools like the Certificate Manager (certmgr.msc) to manage certificates.
    []Update Root Certificates:
    • Updating root certificates can sometimes resolve SChannel errors related to certificate validation. You can usually do this through Windows Update.
    [
    ]Reboot the System:
    • After performing the above steps, reboot your system to see if the SChannel errors persist.

      Additional Considerations:

      • Network Configuration: Review your network configuration, as issues with network settings can sometimes trigger SChannel errors.
      • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your system's firmware (BIOS/UEFI) is up-to-date, as outdated firmware can sometimes contribute to SChannel errors.
If these steps do not resolve the SChannel errors, it might be beneficial to delve deeper into the Event Logs to gather more specific information about the nature of these errors. Feel free to provide more details or logs if you need further assistance in troubleshooting these SChannel errors.
