Windows Vista PC will not wake up from sleep mode

Recently, my laptop (vista business) will not wake up after closing the lid. It does if only a few minutes lapse but it closed more then a few (5 min say) is shows a screen that is back lit, curser will move but nothing else is available. I have to do a hard restart to get it back awake. Computer will be pluged in. Power setting is put asleep when lid closed.
Any suggestions? thks

Hi!! Have you seen this hotfix?? You may experience problems after you resume a Windows Vista-based computer from sleep or from hibernation Have you had SP1?? I've heard of a device that supports wake-up (Kernel Mode Driver) and direct application launch from system start up in Windows Vista. You should probably talk to Microsoft or your manufacturer if your problems are bad enough. Maybe kemical could advise you more on this topic.....

I had a similar issue with sleep mode but after SP1 it didn't do it anymore.

As Fatboy states, SP1 has many updates which refer to this particular problem..
So if you haven't already install it and hopefully your problem willl be solved.
